Some thoughts on NaBloPoMo

by Valerie on November 26, 2008 · 1 comment

So this is the last week of NaBloPoMo and I have to admit — the 30 days are dragging out a bit. Some of it is that I have not had a chance to sit down and download/resize pictures from the camera – and some of it is just that blogging every day seems like a bit much. That said, it definitely got me into more of a habit of posting — things like not having downloaded pictures or not having a short post idea have stopped getting in the way of me posting. Some of my friends are doing NaNoWriMo and reporting similar fatigue.

If you participated in NaBloPoMo or NaNoWriMo (this year or in past years), how was the home stretch?

I definitely hear you. I joined bc it seemed like it would be fun and I was blogging pretty much every day anyway. I also thought that I would bring more visibility to my blog and that I would meet a lot of new people…that hasn’t really been the case. Except for you and two or three others, I haven’t met any new people. I’ve found that most people post and run and I haven’t really had any comments on my posts to the site or to my blog from people coming directly from nablopomo. I read in a few threads that others were having similar experiences. Apparently in years past people were happier with the site.

Either way, I’m glad that I at least met you and I’m glad that it’s almost over! Now if I blog every day it will be bc I want to and not just bc of nablopomo.

:)
