Holiday Markets

I love holiday markets — and I do miss the New York ones very much — so I was pleased to discover that DC started having a Holiday Market in 2005 and is now in its fourth season. I love shopping from smaller indie companies and was very excited to check it out.

I stopped by there very briefly yesterday as a detour from working, and loved the look of it and the music. However, it was freezing cold and I had no time to linger — I did notice one thing that is not clear on their website. Not every exhibitor is there every day. So when you get there, be sure to check out their pamphlet that will give you the information on that.

Also, one more note — the market opens at noon, and I was there at 12.25 for a few minutes and *many* of the vendors had not yet finished setting up. This is markedly different than the NY markets I went to (and even my husband commented on it) – so don’t get there super early. You will be disappointed.

I hope I have more time and can go back this coming Saturday – it’s on until December 23. And hopefully I will remember my camera.
