Beauty Monday – Aquolina’s Pink Sugar

Ever since Aquolina Pink Sugar came out in 2003, I wanted to love it. It was sweet and sugary but still had enough non-gourmand notes to make it wearable. Plus I love the bottle — it’s just so pink and happy. Unfortunately, for years, my experiences with the scent have been less than stellar. On me the scent morphed into burnt wood. Others got the burnt note too, but nevertheless, it worked for and on many people, considering Pink Sugar has consistently been in the top 5 fragrances sold at Sephora for years.

But, body chemistry does change, and about a year ago I started being able to wear it without any more burnt wood notes. And it’s truly lovely . I don’t find it sweet without being tooth-achey, and always gets lots of compliments on it. I especially love wearing Pink Sugar in winter as it’s a nice warm scent – almost like a reminder that winter won’t be forever.
