People with great gifts are easy to find, but symmetricaland balanced ones never.
(Ralph Waldo Emerson)
Thursdays here at CGL are about what balance and wellness means to you. One of my goals with this series is highlight how everyone is different when it comes to balance and wellness, which is enhanced by guest bloggers posting on this topic rather than .  I am so happy that Kaileen Elise is guest blogging on this topic here today.  I have gotten to know this lovely lady first through twitter, and I am so excited she now has a blog {you can grab her feed here}.  Here are Kaileen Elise’s thoughts on balance and wellness:
As we pursue fulfilling and happy lives, many of ussearch for ways to bring more balance and wellness into our routines. There isnot one set of rules or rituals that will work for everyone, but there aresimple concepts we can embrace as individuals to incorporate balance andwellness daily:
Be Kind
What would you do if a stranger fell in front of you, spilling their belongings in your path? You would probably stop, ask them if they were ok and help them gather their things. Then why is it that so many of us get down on ourselves when we trip up? One way to embrace balance and wellness is to be kind to yourself and those around you. Treat yourself as you wish others to treat you and you will be astonished at the results.

Seek Your Path
There are many books, websites, blogs, podcasts and other resources that focus on living a healthy and balanced life. What may feel like balance to you will be uncomfortable for your neighbor. Some methods will resonate and others will make you feel like your folding your hands with the wrong thumb on top. The beauty of abundance is that you can pick and choose elements that work for your individual needs. Pay attention to what you are attracted to and trust in your intuition.

Parent Yourself
Imagine two versions of yourself: you as you are right now and a parent version of yourself. The parent-version believes in you, wants only what is best for you and would never put you in harm’s way. If you have children, think about what you do when it is past your child’s bedtime. Consider your reaction when he or she wants one more piece of candy. Think about all your hopes and dreams for your child. Apply this unconditional love and support to yourself and you will begin to live a more balance and fulfilled life.
As you go about your day, try to spend a few momentsthinking about how you can be kind. Try to work towards seeking your path. Be aparent to yourself. Take steps towards living a life full of balance andwellness.

The 'parent yourself' concept really made me thing. It seemed at first like a good idea. Be somebody who believe in you and support yourself. However, there is something scary about the parental figure. Something censoring. Maybe that all depends on your personal background. I don't know. I might explore that concept a bit more. Thanks for your wonderful thoughts.

vienna, i understand where you are coming from. the concept is to be loving, supportive, kind. if the 'parent' idea doesn't work for you, try to come up with something that embodies love, support & kindness for you. thank you for your insight. xo, kaileenelise

I also was struck by the "parent yourself" idea, and completely want to start incorporating that immediately :-) I think for those of us who have a more negative view on parenting it is a good chance to do for ourselves what we wish had been done.
