Random Friday Thoughts

Skindecent goodies

*Can I just say just how very happy I am it is Friday. I am so ready for a weekend of rest and relaxation, including quality time in the bathtub.

*Lately my blog has been more City Girl Eats than anything else, but I am not changing the blog name yet. I love to blog about non-eats thing, like my post on my March intention. (Update April 2010, I changed my blog name!)

*Yes, I am still giggling a bit over the Mad Men dolls.  Speaking of Mad Men, if you love the show, be sure to check out the Basket of Kisses site.

*One of my favorite episodes of Mad Men was the Rome episode – it made transatlantic travel seem so much nicer.  So because we all need a little glamour when we travel, do check this out. My personal strategy is wrapping myself in lots of TranquiliT clothing, requesting as much water as possible from the flight attendant when I run out of what I brought on board, bringing lots of snacks from home with me, and indulging in tons of magazines.

*Speaking of City Girl Eats, has anyone tried soy curls? I am curious how processed they are,  because based on the ingredients, they just seem to be dehydrated non-GMO soy. I am going to add it to my list for my next trip to the Vegan Store in the Maryland suburbs of DC.  Vegan Crunk’s rave about them made me curious, particularly when she used them in a recipe from Vegan Brunch, which I picked up at Amazon last week for under $3!

*On the recipe front, I made the quinoa-chickpea flour flatbread from Meghan Telpner  I mentioned last month and it was delicious.  This brown rice cracker recipe, also from Meghan Telpner, along with this quinoa millet sea salt cracker recipe from Gluten Free Goddess  has set off all sorts of cracker-making experiments in the kitchen.

*Have a wonderful weekend! What are you up to? Tonight I am going to a Darren Main workshop, as he is teaching at Tranquilspace this weekend.  And I am definitely getting a couple of yoga classes in this weekend, as I did not make it this week.  That said, for the first time ever, I practiced at home for longer the 20 minutes (hit the 45 minute mark) so I am pretty happy about that.

Disclosure: while I purchase all my TranquiliT items and have done so and blogged about the line for a long time, as of July 2009, I am both a member of the TranquiliT Tribe and an Affiliate.

Thanks for the travel link! Any advice to make that more enjoyable is more than welcome. And TranquiliT looks like an awesome company–I can't believe I hadn't heard of them!
