Macarons Are Everywhere

Sometime in 2007 I started getting into macarons – by 2008 I was sampling macarons all over New York and musing that macarons were the next cupcake, an invasion of the macarons really.  I think macarons are now past the invasion point.  Look at this:

You definitely forecasted that trend! Did you see this piece on Salon.com about how cake balls are now "the new cupcakes"? http://www.salon.com/food/feature/2010/04/16/cake_balls

The sub-title even says, "Move over, macarons"…too funny.

Yup, you totally called it! I'm waiting for them to take over weddings now too – instead of cupcake towers there will be macaron towers!
