Brunch at Cafe Green

I know you already know how much I enjoy the food at Cafe Green – but I have never posted about the brunch there, usually because I am so busy enjoying the food that I forget to take pictures.  Yesterday I had brunch with Carolyn of Hang on Tomato, and actually remembered to take pictures.  Cafe Green is 100% vegan and very allergy-conscious and gluten-free-friendly.  You can read a recent profile of the restaurant here.

First up is the raw “oatmeal” made with flaky coconut flour and fruit. I don’t know the exact ingredients as this was just added to the menu, but it was delicious and I confirmed it was completely gluten-free:

My constant Cafe Green brunch favorite, the tofu scramble, also gluten-free:

And finally, a coconut water shake with raw cacao:

Everything was delicious. I love eating at Cafe Green for so many reasons – not only is the food great and the setting really relaxed, but because the restaurant is vegan, I never have to worry about hidden dairy or eggs, and they are super responsive to gluten-free diners.

I ate there when I was visiting. Loved that place. So comfortable and homey and delicious. I wish we had a place like that here.
