Grand Plans

I had grand blog plans for December 1 –  non-food plans too – gift guides and self-reflection and more writing about life.  I knew today was the first day of Reverb #10, a month-long self-reflection blogging circle (that is over 1000 people now!) sponsored by the lovely Kaileen Elise, among other.   The prompt for today was actually something I have been meaning to write about all fall – a word encapsulating 2010 for me.  My word is vibrant, as there have definitely been  many moments this year I have felt that way.  The problem is that tonight is not one of those moments.

At the risk of sounding shallow, I am more in the mood to talk about clothes than self-reflection.  In fact, I really want to talk about things like blazer cardis:

I am loving this as an alternative to a jacket for work – I bought it in both black and gray, though the website only has the black one right now, I have seen both in stores.  With tailored black pants and a long-sleeve black top underneath, these jackets are surprisingly put together and professional for a knit cardigan.

Here is a more embellished version from Anthropologie, though I am not loving the vines.

I have also been eyeing corduroys.  I am loving these for weekends – I picked a pair up for $30 this past weekend:

And while I could not find these at stores, I have a pair coming in the mail (also for only $30). I am wondering if I will like them in person:

So while tonight my grand blog plans may not be quite as grand as I had hoped to, I am hoping to write more regular non-food-blog posts this month.  I suppose clothes are a good start.  Good night!

Fun post!! I love that blazer cardigan. Regular blazers can be so uncomfortable!
