{Today’s Lunchbox} Feeling Boring

lunch 011

Sometimes I wonder if my lunches are boring.  I did not use to feel that way, but then 6+ months of posting lunchboxes has been thinking about this more often.  At this point you all know my quirks – I like spinach smoothies rather than spinach salads when packing to-go, tofu is a favorite lunchtime source of protein (especially Twin Oaks tofu), I alternate between steaming kale and eating it as a raw salad,  crispy raw veggies make me happy, as do beans … so yes, basically I feel boring.  That said, boring is good, because it means that I can put together lunchboxes fast (and I am lucky my husband is usually willing to chop vegetables, which helps so much with prep).  Today’s lunchbox includes lunch and three snacks:

Ultimately, boring is not just good, it is delicious.  That said, I could use a couple of new lunchbox ideas.

Do you ever feel like you are in a lunch boredom rut? Or a food boredom rut in general?

"Do you ever feel like you are in a food boredom rut? "

All the time! LOL I cook and food prep in bulk on the weekends so during the week I'm eating a lot of repeats. But I don't mind because I know it's delicious, healthy and next weekend I'll try something new 😉 But yeah, it's pretty standard stuff: morning juice, mid-morning smoothie, raw-ish lunch, fruit and veggie snacks and then beans or tofu with grains and veggies for dinner. Looks boring when I read it like this but, honestly, it's awesome!

Your lunch box looks far from boring to me! What's boring is the Lean Cuisines that everyone else seems to be eating in the lunch room. Ick! I think we just develop our favorites and know they'll make us happy at lunch time. Nothing wrong with that!

I think I usually only make one or two interesting things a week, and the rest is 'same old'…I'm okay with that! And I've always been impressed with all your lunchboxes.

You lunches are far more varied than mine. But I figure people who blog about their meals make an extra effort to make them a little special. It's nice to see what you really eat regardless if it's a bit repetitive at times, I mean, that's only natural!

your lunchboxes are NEVER boring! the average lunchbox (well, in the uk anyway) contains 2 sandwiches with ham and cheese and a piece of fruit… yours are always interesting and very creative!

but i like also what you say about boring meaning that you've mastered it – so true :)

My breakfasts seem more boring than my lunches to me. My lunches are often leftovers of dinner, and dinner isn't the same thing over and over, so I'm generally okay with that. Your lunches inspire me, so they're definitely not boring! I love your kale and your dips, and your raw creations, even if often they're inspired by others. You encourage me to create raw delights!
