Amande Yogurt Follow-up Review

amande yogurt vanilla 003

When I was traveling a couple of weeks ago, I was delighted to stumble onto the above flavors and sizes of Amande Yogurt (past Amande review) as both were ones I had not yet tried.  Bonus, I finally found a large size which, you might remember, was one thing I bemoaned in my original review.  I also love the idea of a Vanilla Amande (which, as it turns out, only comes in the 24oz size, as does the plain Amande), because then I can put my concerns about inorganic Dirty Dozen fruit aside.  I did put that concern aside to try the raspberry flavor and, as is almost always the case for me, the raspberry flavor won flavor-wise compared to strawberry, blueberry and peach. I have always loved how raspberry brings out the tartness of yogurt and as such is less sweet – which also applies for this vegan yogurt.

The Vanilla Amande was pretty fantastic too. While fruit-less, it is a bit higher in sugar than it’s the fruit flavored Amandes, which I found interesting. I really enjoyed it mixed with shredded coconut and cacao nibs – a similar experience to eating one of my favorite yogurts growing up.

Overall, of vegan yogurts, I still think Amande is one of the better ones, especially since it is not overly sweet.  It is ironic that my favorite three Amandes thus far (coconut, vanilla and raspberry) are flavors I found when out of town, but hopefully my local stores will expand their selection.
