Happy New Year!

Happy New Year, dear readers!  I hope you have all had a wonderful first day of 2014.  I am usually a big believer in the first day of the year setting the tone – I always make sure to include the following: a fun outing, some yoga, delicious nourishing (and green!) food and drink. This year, I am going to hope that today does not set the tone for the rest of the year, as I spent all day at home, nursing a bad cough as well as pain courtesy of a fall a couple of days ago. I knew bruising one’s tailbone hurts, but in theory it never hurts as much as in practice.  I sprained a couple of fingers in my left hand as well, so it has not been the most fun couple of days.  On the upside, I did get a nice long nap, I spent some time art journaling and had some lovely nourishing food.  The pain is improving, and I am keeping all (non-sprained) fingers and toes crossed that the cough also continues to improve, as I have work travel next week.

I also thought about my 2014 intentions and resolutions, with regard to life, work and the blog. City Life Eats will be 7 years old in April! Seven!  I am still mulling my 14 for 2014 list – I always ease into the new year (2011, 2012, 2013) so this is no surprise.  In the meantime, if you are looking for a little inspiration for the new year, here are some of my favorite posts, which I sometimes return to when I need inspiration:

Happy New Year Valerie! Sure hope you are on the mend and will be feeling great real soon, I agree with your thoughts about the first hours and days of the New year setting the “Tone” …. I am doing my best to figure out the direction I want to take this year so I can achieve my goals …doing my best to stay focused and take time for reflection/ direction. I have set some very lofty goals for myself this year and I want to make the most of this year. Wishing you all the very best in 2014! Congrats on your Blog being 7 years old! That’s a great accomplishment. I thoroughly enjoy your blog. Thank you.

Valerie–Missed this post, but just found it in my In Box. First, hope you are healed now! I had a bruised tailbone/cracked coccyx once and it was a beast! Second, huge congrats on 7 years! So glad you are here for all of us. (I actually just celebrated my 5th blogiversary, but haven’t written about it yet.) So far the resolutions that are appealing to me the very most are simply having fun, loving one’s self more, and eating more chocolate. Sadly, none of those were my own ideas, but I’m thinking that if I embrace them, a lot of things that have been on my “to do” list for a long time are going to “magically” fall into place. 😉

Happy New Year, Valerie!
