Bobbi Brown

Bobbi Brown is the brand after my heart (err, wallet) this year, more than usual. Not only is the Stonewash Shimmer Nudes palette gorgeous (I am hopefully picking up mine at Bloomingdales later this week), but some of the Chocolate palette and Chocolate collection colors have been repackaged in a Best of Chocolate lip and eyes palette (this is not coming out until much later this year by the way). I normally don’t love Bobbi’s two tiered palettes (they look like this packaging-wise), but for this one I will make an exception. Bobbi’s 2006 Chocolate collection was the only makeup collection I was ever regretful to not buy from, so I am glad to have a second chance!

The other products I have my eye on for later in the year are the Metallics Collection and the Pink Quartz Shimmer Brick, as well as the Long-wear Eye Shadow Palettes – Bobbi’s cream shadows are absolutely fantastic, and I am so glad that they will be in palette form. All the items I just mentioned are Limited Edition so keep an eye on the Bobbi website and your local counter.

Even though I always have several favorite brands, every year one of them comes up in my rotation as THE one I buy from. The last couple of years it was Stila and Shu, and Laura Mercier before that, and Prescriptives before that. This year will definitely be Bobbi for me. Her products are just a little more pigmented, colorful and playful, yet still with the same amazing Bobbi classiness and quality.

If you are just starting to get to know Bobbi’s products, my recommendations are the following:

-Any of the Shimmer Bricks (check this out to figure out which one(s) is for you)

-The Coral Blush (a true light shimmery coral color)

-The Beach Sun Kissed Palette

-Basic eyeshadows like Bone, Vanilla, Espresso (or wait for a LE palette)

-Cocoa Bling gloss

-And any of her face products (ie foundation, concealer etc) are topnotch. I am a huge fan of her Tinted Moisturizer and will be reviewing her Eye Brightener later this week.
