Pumpkin, the Scent of Fall

Greetings — I was at Starbucks today, and while New York is sweltering, it is fall inside Starbucks! Their Pumpkin Loaf, Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffin and Pumpkin Spice Latte are all back. Those LE items are some of my favorites. While I did not indulge, I thought this was a good segway to tell you about a few of my favorite pumpkin scents. Until Fall 2005 I had never thought a scent named Pumpkin Pie a la Mode would even appeal to me, but, sure enough, two years later I love those scents.

In my opinion, Coconut Hut has the best pumpkin scents out there. Sadly most of them are LE, but will be arriving soon!! I love her Sweet Pumpkin Chai Latte (LE), which is vanilla-y, slightly spicy and creamy at the same time. For scrubs, I like non-spicy scents, so Pumpkin Ice Cream (LE) is just perfect — smells exactly like another of my fall favorites: Coldstone Pumpkin Ice Cream! Also in the ice cream vein, I love Pumpkin Pie a La Mode (not LE!) — very similar to Pumpkin Ice Cream, but with a soft pie crust note. Finally, I also love Pumpkin Butterscotch Sugar Cookie (LE) — that one smells more gingery and pumpkin on me, but softened by the bakery notes. Pumpkin Gingerbread Ice Cream Cake (LE) is another one I love too for being nice and gingery.

Because I am just new to pumpkin scents, I tend to get them in either a butter or cream, and then layer with a basic vanilla, but Coconut Hut carries all these scents in all her products. Maybe this fall and winter I will be adventurous enough to get an edp in a pumpkin scent!

Since my pumpkins are all CH-focused, I did want to mention that I have several friends who LOVE Bathed and Infused’s Pumpkin Pie and Pumpkin Cremasse scents. They are lovely scents, but turned on me. Do check them out though if you want more variety outside of CH.
