Bath and Body Works Update

I hit BBW yesterday, despite the fact that almost nothing at that store (except for the edts) works for my fairly sensitive skin, I always love to go in there and browse. A lot of their scents are lovely, and generally indie etailers dupe them soon after. Therefore, I can usually find a BBW scent in a formula I like through indie etailers. For example, last year’s Pecan Passion was a huge hit, and soon after Coconut Hut came out with an interpretation of it – and that was even better.

Another great example is BBW’s hit scent Vanilla Bean Noel ( a vanilla caramel blend). Most indie etailers now carry versions of it. My two favorite dupes are those from Cleanse Your Soul and Coconut Hut. I highly recommend CYS’s emollient in VBN, as well as the CH edp in Noel Vanilla Bean.

So I stopped by BBW to sniff some of the new scents, more out of curiosity than anything else. The first one was Simply Divine Cherry Pie – I don’t even like cherry scents, but this smelled SO good, and the piecrust note was lovely – buttery and sweet. I understand the general obsession with this scent now. I also sniffed Vanilla Ice Cream – it’s a nice sweet vanilla, but no better than a lot of other vanillas. Finally, I sniffed Fun Frosted Cranberry, which smells like grape juice to me. Not very holiday smelling to me compared to their bestsellers like Vanilla Bean Noel.

Before I sign off, I wanted to add that if you have any beloved, long-discontinued BBW (or Victoria’s Secret or other retailer) scent, chances are an etailer will have a dupe. A great place is to start is Hannah’s Handprints. The scent list is mammoth and comprises several dupes.

I wasn’t thrilled with the Frosted Cranberry either. But I will say I’m excited for the Sassy Strawberry Mint and Dreamy Chocolate Mint holiday temptations. :)
