Blog Action Day 08

by Valerie on October 16, 2008 · 0 comments

I made it to DC, and hopefully my stuff will too — I will find that out tomorrow. I just wanted to get a post in for Blog Action Day 08, even though I am doing this in the final hour of October 2008.

I wanted to highlight Dress for Success, an organization that promotes the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life. Pulling out of poverty requires a job, and Dress for Success helps women achieve that through one of their more than 85 affiliates in the United States, Canada, New Zealand, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. Each site is an independent, volunteer-driven non-profit organization committed to fulfilling the Dress for Success mission of promoting the economic independence of disadvantaged women through career development and employment retention.

You can help by donating gently used professional clothes, or funds, or getting your employer involved in donating products.
