Beauty Monday and Indie Spotlight on Mad City Sue

Beauty Monday is a weekly feature focusing on green beauty, paraben-free skincare, makeup, and the beauty industry and marketing.

I discovered Mad City Sue about the time I started getting into etsy.
MSC is known for her Creamy Whipped Sugar Body Scrub, and I can see why. This is a nice, thick, very moisturizing (but not OTT oily) scrub and gives skin a nice glossy sheen post-shower. Scent-wise, I have loved all the scents I tried, but Fresh Marsmallow really won. It is a lovely light marshmallow. Italian Cream Cake is very nice as well, especially since the cake note does not get chemical on my skin (one of the hallmarks of my body chemistry).

The scrub is paraben-free and very soft yet exfoliating. There’s a wide array of scents, and you can always inquire about a custom scrub if you don’t see a scent you want in the listed items. Furthermore, you don’t have to limit to limit yourself to one scent — you can get up to 3 in a “split” scrub. It is always best to send Sue an etsy convo (aka an email through the etsy system) if you want something in particular.

This is my Holy Grail body scrub. Now Nick and Ben even want this one on their knees and elbows at bath time.

My two favorite splits are Italian Cream Cake with Lemon Meringue as well as a triple split with Reindeer Cakes, Marshmallow Cocoa and Pizzelle Cookies.

I used Thin Mint Cookies today again and it is just wonderful!

These products look great! Another wonderful spot I found for scrubs, lotions and body butters is Garden Girl. They don’t use parabens, petroleum or harsh chemicals. Plus, their packaging is adorable and they all smell divine! You can check them out at http://www.gardengirlskincare.com.
