Today, I found myself in Downtown DC 45 minutes early for an event I was attending – and I was just a block from Macy’s, so I stopped by their shoe section. You see, I was in dire need of another pair of flats for work – yes, I practically have a uniform – pantsuits and ballet flats – but it works for me. I also wanted to see if the down economy really translated to amazing deals in shoes – my theory is that the down economy means better deals on clothes, but not so much on shoes and purses – usually deals on shoes and purses tend to be in very improbable colors too.
That might be changing, because look at what I found at 40% off:
Ok, they were not the most amazing deal there *but* these are Cole Haan shoes with the Nike Air cushioning technology – and I never find Cole Haan Nike Air shoes on sale in my size well, pretty much, ever. So this was very exciting for me.
Ironically, these shoes are another example of a “winterized ballet flat” as well – though this would be a more dressed up version – you can’t tell from the picture, but the soles are rubber and have decent tread. And, they really live up to the Cole Haan Nike Air co-branding – much more comfortable than the average pair of dress shoes or ballet flats.
P.S. The picture is from Zappos (where they are not yet on sale) but I just checked the Cole Haan site and this style appears to be at 35% off.
