Happy Sunday and Fashion Musings – Even Keel Yoga Wear

I hope everyone had a good weekend – mine involved some work but also lots of walking around in the gorgeous weather we had in Washington, DC this weekend, and I even fit in a manicure and a stop at Locolat Cafe – they have a delicious lemonade which I indulged in while my husband had this delicious waffle with ice cream.

After two days of sunshine, though, there is a storm brewing and the temperature is dropping fast – I had to pull on leggings under my dress to avoid getting chilled just now. And that reminded me I really should tell you about these bamboo leggings. They are from Even Keel, which is a yoga apparel company specializing in sustainable fabrics. I love how Liz Matthews, the woman behind Even Keel, takes a basic item like leggings and adds design flair with a slightly longer leg (great if you are almost 5’10” like me) and beautiful colors at the waistband. I got to meet Liz at a shopping event at TranquiliT‘s showroom in Washington, DC, which is another eco-friendly brand that I rave about a lot.

I have been very pleased with the quality of the Even Keel leggings -they held up well in the wash, and are incredibly soft and comfortable. In addition to leggings, Liz designs these very nifty Glam Guru pants – she was wearing them the day I met her, and I can completely see why they are a signature item – think yoga pants with ruching – they’re adorable. I was on a mission to buy bamboo leggings that day, but I am definitely thinking I need to look at the Glam Guru pants or the Toreador pants, which are mid-calf-length.

Even Keel is available in many cities or online. Picture from Even Keel website.

i spent both of my weekends in nyc and dc looking for even keel clothing. i was disappointed to come back with nothing from both places. how is that possible?! anyways, i guess i’ll have to buy online. i really want a pair of the toreador pants and some shorts for yoga when the weather gets hotter. that is so cool that you got to meet liz at the tranquilit showroom.

i do have a question about even keel from someone who actually owns a pair. i read that they are accurately sized, no need to order up or down a size. did you find that to be true? since i have to order online, i am hoping to grab the correct size to start with instead of having to go through the trouble to return if i don’t get the right size to begin with. i’m thinking due to my rather large booty i’ll probably have to get large lol.

Oh my goodness, got those Tim Tams, YUM YUM! Tried 2 right away, so delicious! Then I made the mistake of leaving them downstairs where everyone tried them & loved them & ate them all up! Thanks again :)

Why is it that I get more excited about buying new yoga clothes than shoe shopping? A major paradigm shift has occurred in my life over the past five years!
