{Beauty Monday} My Three Favorite Lip Balms

by Valerie on September 14, 2009 · 4 comments

I love love love lip balm.  Oddly, though, I do not like minty lip balms. I far prefer sweeter smelling lip balms, and love just about any of them that have honey as part of the ingredients.  Over the years, I have found a few eco-friendly favorites I keep coming back to:

* Burt’s Bees Honey Lip Balm – My favorite inexpensive balm that I can buy just about anywhere.

*Fresh Sugar Lip Balm – My favorite high-end pick. It’s luxurious and smells delicious.

* Chagrin Valley Soaps Lip Butter Balms – My favorite indie pick.  There are several kinds but I prefer the Honey Butter Balm and the Aloe Butter Balm.  Eco-friendly wise, I would pick this one over the above two, mainly because it is 100% natural and made by a small company.

I love Burts Bees – the Honey lip balm is one of my favorite products. Have you tried the new Softlips USDA Organic? I love Softlips and I'm dying to get my hands on the new organic lip balm, but can't find it anywhere.

I think I've used CV's Honey Butter lip balm -they are nice! Though I prefer not to use it on-the-go as they are pots not tubes.

My current favorite is Ilona's Lip-E. I also like Nan and Karley's lip balms.

Surprisingly- I've never tried the Burt's Bees even though I have bought it for my sister (who doesn't live in the U.S) couple of times.

i like burt's bees. i actually just found out from kate vickers deriso's blog that clorox owns burt's bees. i was shocked! i am not a huge fan of minty lip balm either. my most recent lip balm find (and love) is yes to carrots – c me smile – lip butter. its 95% organic and all natural. i really love it!
