Back in Brooklyn

Greetings — some great news — my husband and I found an apartment we like in Brooklyn. I am signing the lease tomorrow night and picking up the keys Wednesday.

On the beauty front, we stopped by Target in Flatbush (Brooklyn’s LIRR station that has a mall complex) and I took a break from the mundane of apartment hunting and shopping for the move to stop at Carol’s Daughter adorable boutique there. I get the feeling I will be stopping there often. Unlike Sephora, which carries a large but not complete selection of the line, this store has every product on the Carol’s Daughter website.

And that includes the Body Butter in Almond Cookie! It is SO yummy, and made of all natural almond oil, coconut oil, jojoba oil, beeswax, shea butter and the same wonderful almond vanilla fragrance I reviewed in this post. It is even richer in the butter. I think it’s sad Sephora stores don’t carry it and you can only get it online.

Aside from the body butter, I also got the Lemon and Jojoba Cuticle Oil and the Lip Butter. I am liking the lip butter, but it has not dethroned either of my two favorites: Burt’s Bees Honey Lip Balm and Fresh Sugar Lip Balm. The Fresh lip balm also has SPF. The Carol’s Daughter lip butter is great quality and very moisturizing, but the scent is almost fleeting.

Be sure to check out Carol’s Daughter at Sephora if you are not in the New York area.

Im also a big Carol’s Daughter fan. Im rather a Fanatic. I own a lot of Ms. Lisa’s products including the Hair Balm, Hair Milk, and the Tui Hair Smoothie. I live in West Los Angeles. My hair is “micro curly” and I press it. The Hair Balm is so great for pressing. I’ve got my family hooked on “CD”. Off the subject, although im from Los Angeles, born and raised, everyone I encounter on the street, or wherever I am, all think im from back east. They all think im from NY, or Philly, etc. I’ve never been to NY. I’ve always wanted to visit, but I wouldn’t know where to begin. It’s always good to have a friend or someone you know to show you around or give a tour. I’ve always wanted to see Brooklyn. Im in love with brownstone apartments. I know there’s so much more to Brooklyn than Brownstones. One day, im sure ill be blessed with the opportunity.
