Indie Spotlight on Whimsy and Spice, on Etsy and at Brooklyn Flea Market

Update June 2010: in June 2009 I switched to eating gluten-free, egg-free, dairy-free, refined-sugar-free and nearly vegan, so this review predates the switch.

I read about Whimsy and Spice’s Etsy store on The Chic and Green Blog earlier this week — and I drooled over the pictures.

And then when I clicked over to the Etsy store, I saw that they are Whimsy and Spice Brooklyn Confectioners.

So I immediately clicked over to their main website, hoping they have a store and turns out they were planning to sell their scrummy goodies over at the Brooklyn Flea Market (which is less than a mile from where I live in Brooklyn) on Sunday, August 24.

As in today.

And, I had not yet made it to the Brooklyn Flea Market.

So of course it was the plan for today. Especially because Whimsy and Spice’s Chocolate Chili Cashew Biscotti were calling to me.

And they are delicious! I bought a package of those. I also got to sample their shortbread cookies, and those were very tasty.

So, if you are in New York, stop by the Brooklyn Flea and pick yourself up some of those goodies.
As a bonus, the booth has yummy summer drinks too. I had a watermelon , lime, ginger and mint concoction and it was perfect.

And if you are not in New York, you can have your Whimsy and Spice via Etsy. Enjoy the deliciousness.Picture from Whimsy and Spice website

Karley – the biscotti are absolutely delicious. They also have a blog (you can link to it from the main whimsy and spice site).

I just ordered some of the Whimsy & Spice caramel marshmallows for a friend as a little surprise gift. I'll have to find out how those are, too.

Karley — you will have to let me know how the caramel marshmallows are. I am thinking of getting them next :)

jenndz — truly scrumptious, not too sweet, and several subtle bursts of flavor. If there comes a day where I no longer live in Brooklyn (which will mean I am back in WDC) I will be ordering Whimsy and Spice via etsy.

My friend received her marshmallows 2 days after I ordered them and she LOVES them. She said they were especially good in her hot cocoa on a chilly night.
