The New British Invasion – Pret!

by Valerie on May 6, 2009 · 7 comments

I love Pret a Manger. I know, me, the cook-a-lot-at-home gal, liking fast food. But you already knew that – I confessed my love for Chipotle last fall, and admitted how much I like Maoz a couple of months ago. I love the ease of quick food, so long as it tastes delicious and has at least some amount of all-natural ingredients. So of course, Pret’s tagline of always natural and organic when we can is perfect for me. I was so glad to see them open in Washington, DC, as I never went enough to Pret when I lived in New York, even though there are so many.

And everything is just so darn cute at Pret. Look at the bag:

And inside the bag is one of my favorites, their Mediterranean Tuna sandwich – no mayo, but lots of tuna, basil, arugula and other yumminess, on a great whole-grain bread.

Pret is my favorite stand-by for a quick, cheap, healthy lunch here in the UK. I lovelovelove their crayfish and rocket sandwich paired with blood orange juice. Glad to see an outpost has made it over to you!

No mayo, really? and arugula (or rocket i suppose would be the proper term)? That sounds fantastic… although it’ll probably take years for it to come over to CA. I am a fan of Chipotle’s chicken fajita salad bowls, too– so much goodness I don’t even need the dressing.

Now, why don’t we ever get cool places like this down here? Grrr! So unfair!

I like the name of this Food Chain. Very clever.
