A Successful Artist Date

I had lots of fun at the Dupont market this morning – I took my time and really soaked in the atmosphere. I made a point to go to several different vendors I don’t usually purchase from, and just generally worked on not being in a rut and really seeing the market through a newcomer’s eyes, rather than the routine weekly shopper I am there. It really made the experience more fun and novel.

Seeing these bright yellow and purple cauliflower helped the novelty part too:

Apparently they taste just like regular cauliflower. They are even more striking in sunlight:

I love the pictures of the cauliflowers! I've never actually seen purple cauliflower before. I wonder if there's any nutritional difference? I wish there was a farmers market where I lived!

Purple cauliflower is so much fun because it does taste exactly like cauliflower and you're not expecting that.

Which market is this?

Melita – the colors are so fun.

Delectable Swank – thanks for stopping by :) My understanding nutritionally is that the yellow are about the same as the white, and the purple have more minerals. But overall, not that different.

Jen – oops, sorry I didn't mention it – it's the Dupont Market in Washington DC

Lauren – I know, aren't they fun. And I am so glad you like the pictures :)

They really are lovely, aren't they! I've seen the purple ones once or twice in our market. Must try them.
