6 Things That Make Me Happy {Listmania}

by Valerie on July 16, 2009 · 11 comments

The lovely RelentlessBride tagged me in this meme. I am supposed to list 6 things that make me very happy, but before I do that, please go check out RelentlessBride’s nomination for Best Real Bride Wedding Blog.

So 6 things that make me happy today, at 7.43am :

1. Trying out a new blog title on for size. I don’t know yet if I will keep My City Girl Life, but it’s so nice to try it out. What do you think?

2. SWIM – which is the Summer Writing Inspiration Movement, but will continue past the summer as the Solstice Writing Inspiration Movement. It’s a way to support each other in personal, professional and blog writing. If you are curious about my posts, click here.

3. Guacamole, homemade, without tomatoes. It’s even good for breakfast. Who knew?

4. My friend the Curator of the Makeup Museum who sent me a lovely package filled with samples and magazine clippings. She’s guest-blogging here on Monday, in fact, so you will get to meet her soon.

5. Husband, who provides so much support and comfort.

6. Our rice cooker. I know that might sound funny, but it makes perfect brown rice and steams veggies effortlessly which, when you have to eat veggies all the time, is a wonderful thing.

And, because happiness and gratitude lists are a mainstay for these bloggers, I am tagging the following ladies:

Melita of Gussying up the Tuttle
Kiki of The Prosecco Life
Carolyn of Hang on Little Tomato
Rachel of And if it’s a hero you want ….
Revisionista of The Revising Life
Sarah of The Analyst
Lauren of Everyday Revelry.

Yes, that’s more people than I am supposed to tag – consider yourself all tagged if you want to do a happiness list.

I love your list! And I second Lauren's craving for guacamole. I might have to get some for lunch today.

Thanks for the comment. :-) The move is going well. We're staying at the new place, but still moving stuff from my old place, getting furniture picked out, etc., so it's been rather hectic. I don't feel like I've had enough time to devote to my blog and reading others, but hopefully I'll make a grand comeback soon!

Oh, and I will share my 6 Things on my blog later today!

ooh- I love avocados and can eat them straight. Made a terrible mistake today of adding some tomatillo salsa (containing garlic) to the mashed avocados (hoping it would tempt my husband who doesn't love avocados as much as I do) and it completely dominated the avocado and ruined it..:( and worst part is I am hungry and I just got to work..
Ok, I will stop whining..lol..But had to get it out of my chest..:)

Nice List, by the way..:)

Thanks, City Girl! I'm loving the fact that we'll be continuing SWIM past the summer, too – that makes me INCREDIBLY happy!

Oh gosh, I still have done this yet! I will blog soon my 6 things! I've been away and not everything went out so well, so I'm afraid my 6 things will be more like a struggle for 3–not a good frame of mind at the moment. I will try tomorrow!

I do like the blog title! Very nice.

I'm not sure if this is good for your detox but have you ever had Wholly Gucamole? It is usually found in the produce section (or sometimes near the deli) of grocery stores. They now sell 100 calorie packets, which are delish and perfect for packing in a lunch. I usually use them for sandwich spreads or tortilla dip.
