{Listmania} My Long Weekend Away

More fireworks

* Pick up Zipcar {that’s one of my favorite parts of any roadtrip. I heart Zipcar}

* Washington, DC to Binghamton, NY to Utica, NY back to Binghamton, NY and finally back to Washington, DC {yes, I was very much over driving by the time we got back}

* Wedding in Utica, NY

* Random fireworks in Utica, NY

* Even more random fire alarm and full evacuation of hotel in Utical, NY {everyone was fine, but I was very cranky about being woken up in the middle of the night and taking 7 flights of stairs to a rainy parking lot}

* Visits with husband’s family in Binghamton, NY

* Trip to Target, which included purchase of new ballet flats and the so elusive Organic Wear mascara {I had not been able to find it at all for months in Washington}

* Trip to Michael’s for fun craft supplies, including acrylic paints {I am in love with Folk Art and Apple Barrel paints – so cheap}, more Modge Podge, foam brushes, sparkly markers and other goodies. This trip rekindled my interest in incorporating collaging into my journaling. {Thank you to Carolyn and Revisionista for all the great recommendations on products to check out}

* Two long naps during two rainy afternoons

sounds fantastic (minus all the driving around & the fire alarm situation – hmmm, it reminded me of the season premiere of mad men lol). i just used some folk art acrylic paint for my artist's date (post to come). naps or rainy afternoons are the best!

I feel exhausted reading about yor trip. It sounds fun though (apart from the fire alarm. I experienced some-thing similar at a hotel in Liverpool – was cranky the following day!). Glad that you had fun…

That sounds like such a fun weekend! The fire alarm escapade reminds me a bit of the night Steve and I spent at the Dulles Airport Hilton for our pre-Cana. The fire alarm went off FOUR times, and since it was Catholic Engaged Encounter, we had roommates instead of being allowed to stay with our fiances… and of course, I forgot my glasses so I had to grope my way blind to the lobby four times, without help from Steve because he was on another floor! Not anxious to repeat that experience again! But glad you had a fun weekend otherwise. =)
