Picnic in Dupont Circle

Today was one of those completely gorgeous days where you must absolutely spend time outside.  Husband and I had a picnic in Dupont Circle.  I had the Six Vegetable Quiche from Pain Quotidien, which has a gluten-free buckwheat crust and a vegan filling of carrots, artichokes, zucchini, spinach and likely some tofu to give it a lovely consistency.  It was lovely and packed perfectly in a box, ready for picnic time:

Husband tried out the newly-opened-as-of-this-week Dupont location of BGR Burger Joint, a local chain based in Bethesda.  His burger looked absolutely gorgeous and he said it was delicious:

The Parmesan fries, even though equally gorgeous, were sadly not as good according to husband.

Here was what we could see from where we were sitting:

It was a lovely Sunday picnic.

I just moved to the Bethesda area. Thank you so much for your restaurant reviews! Who did you talk to at Pain Quotidien to figure out what is gf and dairy-free? There is a PQ in Bethesda, so I'd like to figure it out. Thanks!

Hi M – I emailed questions@lepainquotidien.com

To be fair, like any bakery, LPQ is not the best environment if you want to avoid cross-contamination.
