Hot chocolate 017

Today it is in the 20s F in Washington, DC, a perfect day for hot chocolate. And if you click over to the Gluten-Free Homemaker, you will see my guest post on Spicy Hot Chocolate, which happens to be gluten-free, vegan and soy-free. Hot chocolate is a constant of the winter season for me, ever since childhood. Of course, no longer consuming dairy or refined sugars has changed the character of hot chocolate for me – now, it is usually much more intense in chocolate and lighter on the sweeteners, but it remains a wonderful treat. I enjoy this particular hot chocolate recipe as it is spicy and warming, as well as very rich in chocolate and texture.  If you have not yet checked out Linda’s blog, it has lots of great information and recipes for gluten-free, dairy-free and soy-free living.

Wow, spiccy hot chocolate..that's interesting! It seems like a popular combo, though. My brother had a chipotle chocolate sauce over a chimichanga a few weeks ago. đŸ˜›
