Nurturing Showers

It’s been a long month, and I have found myself gravitating towards anything that says comforting or soothing. One of them is the Crabtree and Evelyn Comforting Shower Foam in Milk Soy Sugar. It’s a lovely scent – creamy and sugary and milky. The texture is amazing as well – it’s a light airy mousse, yet chemical-free. It contains glycerin, amino acids from apples and wheat proteins.

I have also been trying out Burt’s Bees Naturally Nourishing Milk and Shea Butter Body Wash. It doesn’t smell quite as milky as I would like it to (there’s a bit of a soapy scent to it even though it’s SLS free), but my skin sure agrees with the product. It’s milky and moisturizing, and the texture does feel nourishing and restorative. It’s part of a relatively new line at Burt’s Bees. The Milk and Honey Lotion in the line is a long-standing classic, but the other products are new. In addition to the body wash, there’s also a bar soap and a hand wash in the same line, which I do want to try out as well. The bar soap is not cold process, but it’s all natural – so it will likely be like the higher end melt and pour soaps from Crabtree & Evelyn or Carol’s Daughter. Soaps like that are essentially cold process soaps that are melted into a base, but retain all the natural glycerin and other yummy ingredients of cold process soaps.

So if winter is also getting to you, try one of these products. Both Burts Bees and the Crabtree and Evelyn Naturals line are paraben-free and very natural and often use organic ingredients.
