Foaming Scrubiliousness

Happy April! Do break out some happy pink and peach blush this month — and perhaps treat yourself to a new fresh spring scent. Or do like me and scrub away winter!

Incidentally, this happens every winter — my skin craves heavy, oilier scrubs and then poof, with no warning (and before the weather gets warm too), all of a sudden I don’t seem to need the heavy scrubs and instead want the feel of light, whipped, foaming scrubs.

Fortunately, there are three indie etailers out there who make lovely foaming scrubs that paraben-free and SLS-free. All three have propylene glycol which, admittedly, is not all natural. But, in the grand scheme of things, it’s only a small part of the ingredient list — of course, seeing as Foaming Sugar Scrubs are my current obsession, I am a wee bit biased!

Here’s a quick comparison of all three:

Mad City Sue Scrubbin’ Bubbles Foaming Scrub — this is a light whipped foaming sugar, with light to medium scrubbiness. Custom scenting is available, and Sue will fit up to three scents in your jar (if you order the larger size), and color them if you would like her to. The best way to set up an order is via etsy convo, which is the email system within etsy.

Cleanse Your Soul Foaming Sugar Scrub — CYS’s version is denser than the Mad City Sue version, and just a little more scrubby. It can be ordered as a split of two scents, or as a single scent jar. And any of the hundreds of scent on the scent list are available to be put in scrub form.

CocoaPink Lavish Bubbles Sugar Scrub with Dermabrasion Crystal — if you want heavy-duty scrubbing, CP is the way to go — it is very scrubby on account of the crystals, but the formula is still quite gentle overall. There is a limited selection of scents that rotates, but you will find something you like.

All three scrubs will rinse clean and not make your bathtub slippery — I could not pick between them and like them for different reasons. And they are great if you want to scrub winter away!
